SCHOOL OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION

BACKGROUND

The school of Technical Education is one of the earliest schools established in 1977. The school began with three departments comprising of Woodwork technology, Metalwork technology, and Electrical/Electronics technology. In 1986, two additional departments were established. These are Building technology and Automobile technology. At present, the school has five fully accredited departments and runs degree programs in Automobile, Construction and Electrical/Electronics technology.

OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHOOL

  • To produce qualified Technical teachers and practitioners of technology capable of teaching introductory of technology in the junior secondary schools.
  • To produce qualified technical teachers motivated to start the so much desired revolution of technological development right from the Nigerian schools.
  • To produce technical teachers who will be able to inculcate scientific and technological attitudes and values into the society.
  • To prepare technical teachers so as to qualify them for a Post – NCE degree program in technical education.

DEPARTMENTS RUNNING NIGERIA CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION (TECHNICAL)   NCE PROGRAMMES: –

  • Automobile Technology Department
  • Building Technology Department
  • Electrical/Electronic Technology Department
  • Metalwork Technology Department
